- 1 pack of streaky bacon
- BBQ sauce
Slash into the chicken at the thickest part and coat in BBQ sauce.
Â
Shop-bought sauce is fine (and delicious!), but if you’d rather make your own, check out our quick and easy BBQ sauce recipe.
Wrap a rasher of streaky bacon around the chicken drumstick, overlapping it slightly as you wrap it around. The BBQ sauce should help the bacon stick in place.
Heat the oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6.Â
Â
Place the chicken in a roasting dish in one single layer, evenly spacing it out to allow the air to circulate.
Â
When the oven is up to temperature, cook the drumstick for 45 to 50 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
Â
If you like your bacon really crispy, finish it off under a hot grill.
Â
Serve with some easy homemade coleslaw.
