TYS Retail celebrates a decade with Nisa with five-year contract extension
Nisa has extended its partnership with TYS Retail, a leading convenience store chain, for another five years, marking a decade of successful collaboration.
TYS Retail, which currently operates eight stores in the Peterborough area under the Nisa fascia, will continue to benefit from Nisa’s competitive pricing, extensive Co-op own brand product range, and market-leading availability.
Since partnering with Nisa, TYS Retail has been a true pillar of the community, donating almost £70,000 through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity.
Local sports clubs, schools, and food banks have all benefited from the chain’s charitable contributions, reinforcing its strong commitment to supporting local causes.
Siva Thievanayagam, owner of TYS Retail, expressed his satisfaction with the contract renewal, sharing plans for future expansion within the Nisa network.
“I’ve worked with Nisa for a long time, and I couldn’t be happier to extend this relationship. The Nisa fascia is recognisable to our consumers, and everyone knows the brand very well in our area.
“The Co-op own brand products are excellent quality and are popular with our customers. The deliveries and availability from Nisa is by far better than any other group we could have chosen to join - it is so important to us.
Thievanayagam also acknowledged the support provided by Nisa over the years, which has helped TYS Retail navigate challenges in the market.
“The wider market has been unpredictable recently, but this contract extension with Nisa gives us the confidence to move forward and continue to grow our business. The team at Nisa has been fantastic in supporting us, and we look forward to continuing this relationship.”
The contract renewal aligns with TYS Retail’s future growth strategy, as the business considers expanding its footprint with new stores both under the Nisa banner and potentially with a new dual branded store.
The certainty of supply, combined with Nisa’s market-leading availability and the strong appeal of Co-op products, has been pivotal in this decision.
“We are going to refurbish of some of the stores and ensure our standards are as high as possible,” Siva added.
“We are also considering working with Nisa on a dual branded store to put our own name above the door in the local community. Nisa is supportive of this which is another reason why we want to work with them. We are proud to be TYS, proud to be supplied by Nisa and proud to be providing Co-op products.”
Katie Secretan, Nisa’s Sales & Retail Director, also expressed excitement about the ongoing partnership with TYS Retail.
