H & Jodie’s named Community Retailer of the Year at the 2025 Convenience Awards
Nisa retailer H & Jodie’s has been named Community Retailer of the Year at the 2025 Convenience Awards in Manchester, recognising their outstanding commitment to supporting local people.
Understanding the challenges facing their community, the team implemented a seven-point plan addressing key social issues. Their efforts included supporting over 15 food banks with £12,500 in donations and delivering 3,000 cases of food to those in need.
They also provided financial aid to organisations like the Thomas Project, helping families facing homelessness and domestic abuse.
The store has transformed part of its storage space into a community hub, hosting events such as cinema clubs, councillor drop-ins, and social activities to combat isolation.
Their procurement services assist local charities and food banks in securing better deals, while partnerships with Citizens Advice, NHS services, and mental health support groups ensure that residents can access vital resources.
H & Jodie’s also spearheaded Project Phoenix, a collaboration with Walsall Council and Neighbourhood Watch to tackle anti-social behaviour and fund youth activities, including local boxing clubs.
This award celebrates their unwavering dedication to making a real difference-proving that independent retailers can be at the heart of positive community change.
Amrit Singh, Director of H & Jodies, said: "This award is a huge testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, local organisations and the amazing support from our community."
